Lego NXT Robo-Dog
We can program robots to utilize various sensors, such as the Ultrasonic and Sound Sensors on our Robo-Dog, to navigate and complete tasks. This robot-dog will avoid bumping into walls using ultrasonic technology, while its sound-detecting feature seeks the source of a high-pitched sound (e.g. whistling).

We are still working on getting EVERYONE logged onto our Google Classrooms to retrieve the lessons there. Please wait until Thursday to share them with me, so that there are not too many files waiting in my in-box. Do them all first, then share, please. You will have a story coming soon plus Reading and Responding questions.

6A Homeroom for Monday, March 30th 2020
Hey, 6A! Today's message recorded in front of Walmart while I wait in line for toilet paper :) Looks like school will be closed through at *least* April 30th, so I doubt we'll be getting back together this school year. It's gonna be tough, but it looks like infections with the virus won't peak until the end of next month, with peak hospital use mid-May. You are all worth more than doing anything that can hurt you. Please be safe. Some notes:

If you left anything in my room you want back, please let me know so I can put on a mask and some gloves and send it back to you (in a sealed bag- don't open it for a week so any virus dies).
I'll be posting this week's science around 8 or 8.30 am
Office hours this week will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 10 am and 12 noon. My Zoom room will be open that whole time, or you can call or Dojo or email me anytime.
Wednesday at noon my Zoom room will become the Cafeteria: I'll be on to eat lunch with anyone that wants to hang out. We can yell at each other, trade lunches, food fight, and I will let anyone that shows up vote on which of 3 ... unusual things you wanna make me eat.
Wednesday I'll also start reading a book, and recording it. I'm guessing about 15 minutes a day until it's finished. I have no idea what it's about, but the title is "The Graveyard Story" by Neil Gaiman, and I've wanted to read it for a few years now, so here's my big chance :) If I don't like it, or you don't, I'll read another book. See you in Science class! -
