Every morning during class breakfast, I would like students to prepare for class and hone their reading/writing skills.

Students should gather their supplies and hang their backpacks before grabbing their breakfast. After all of this is taken care of, students should silently read or silently write in their journals. This will help remind students that class time is time to focus, as well as help build connections between written words and thought.
