About Ms Riggle

My name is Jennifer Riggle, and this is my first year with the Academy of Math and Science. I have 10+ years of experience working in the classroom with high school AVID programs, and elementary school Boy's & Girls Club after school/summer school programs. I moved to Arizona in 2014, and have been volunteering at the Arizona Museum of Natural History as a gallery interpreter (educator) for nearly 5 years. I am honored have the opportunity to work with your children, and I hope to share so much knowledge with them.

I am originally from California, and I am a first generation college student. My parents did not go to college, nor did their parents. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in General Geology/Geophysics from the University of California, Riverside in June 2014. It was a long and difficult road - but I am proud of the effort and determination I put in to make it through. I am excited about the opportunity to teach your young scholars.

I love teaching because it is a way for me to help others grow and succeed. I have been practicing the craft since I was a small child - I remember summer vacations playing "school" with my younger neighbors, and I often was the teacher - because I was the oldest, but I also found it fun.
Thank you for letting me have the opportunity to teach your children and be a part of their success.

Study Island

Study Island is an important part of the curriculum in our class. Students will receive 1 -3 assignments in Study Island for math and science every week. Study Island is a great way for students to gain mastery of all grade level standards. It will also allow students to catch up if they are behind on any concepts.

Students are encouraged to play Prodigy, a math game during their time off at home. AFTER all of their homework is complete.
Students may join my class and share their progress with me by using my class code.
