3B

Course Description

Greetings families,

My name is Ms. Williams and this is my second year teaching at AMS Camelback. I am from the neighboring state, California, where I began my teaching career well over six years ago and have been working with kids over 10 years. This year in 3rd Grade I aspire to boost self confidence, esteem and motivation to conquer all that comes our way. Testing is very present in this grade as well as Read to Move On. However, do not worry: Together we can accomplish the infinite.

Homework for the week will be posted here every Monday unless a holiday or my absence interferes. Please let me know if you ever have any questions, comments or concerns about the assignments via ClassDojo or email: [email protected]

Best wishes,
Ms. Williams

Technology in Class

Technology in Class

Technology is very present in today's time. In the classroom we have the ability to practice needed skills to use technology in a wise way. Starting next week, students will be using their assigned Chromebooks in class at least 4 times a week to increase their learning in Math and ELA. With that being said, some portions of Study Island, the school provided program, there is an option to be read to.

If you could please provide your child with earbuds or headphones so that they can access this function. This is optional if you do not wish you child to use them. They would be left in the classroom for your child to use only. If you could send them in a labeled bag with their name and class on it that would be greatly appreciated.

Students will not be allowed to use them at a high volume and they will not be able to view the screen longer than 50 minutes at a time with breaks in-between to rest their eyes. This is a mandatory program for your child and will count toward a grade. Administration also wants teachers to assign homework through Study Island which would require you allowing your child access to a computer or mobile device either at home or a public library. If either options are not reasonable, student will be granted the chance to complete assignments at school but DURING their RECESS time or AFTER SCHOOL in my classroom.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns in regards to this.

Cheers,
Ms. Williams

Working toward greatness. Students write down math notes for the day. Topics include comparing numbers using comparison signs and placing numbers in a given order. Students then demonstrate understanding by answering example problems.

Progress Reports

Afternoon,
Progress reports are coming home today. Please know that these are progress reports and not report cards. Student still have a chance to boost their final grade. Reports will be stapled into your child's student planner.
Cheers to a 3-Day Weekend!
