Course Description

Greetings families, 
 
My name is Ms. Williams and this is my second year teaching at AMS Camelback. I am from the neighboring state, California, where I began my teaching career well over six years ago and have been working with kids over 10 years. This year in 3rd Grade I aspire to boost self confidence, esteem and motivation to conquer all that comes our way. Testing is very present in this grade as well as Read to Move On. However, do not worry: Together we can accomplish the infinite. 
 
Homework for the week will be posted here every Monday unless a holiday or my absence interferes. Please let me know if you ever have any questions, comments or concerns about the assignments via ClassDojo or email: [email protected].

3B Zoo Field Trip :)

Hello all 3rd Grade Families!!
 
We are going to the Phoenix Zoo on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Permission slips will be sent home today. The first 5 chaperones to pay will be chosen. If you have a young child who does not attend AMSC you may bring him/her only if you provide transportation. All STUDENTS MUST ride on the bus to and from the zoo. 
 
Also, please be advised that students who do not meet the academic or behavioral requirements will not be allowed to attend.

Picture Day is approaching!!

It has just been announced this morning that students MUST wear their UNIFORMS. These pictures are for the yearbook and class picture. Next time around students should be able to have free dress.
 
Jackets
It is cold outside for certain. Please make sure to provide your child a school appropriate jacket. Students must wear a solid blue jacket indoors. Outside they can wear whatever color they choose. With that being said, if your child tends to be cold in the classroom please make sure their jacket is blue or they will have to remove it.
 
Holiday Parties
The holiday season is approaching and I just wanted to inform you all that we do NOT celebrate holidays at AMS. With that being said, on October 31, Halloween, will not be recognized and all this month we celebrate "Fall". Last year, however, the school did host a "Book Character Dress Day" where students were allowed to dress up as their favorite book character and had to bring the book with them. I am waiting for a confirmation if this will occur again this year. We are not allowed to have Holiday Parties in class. So, for that day I will provide snack and fall activities. If you have a child that you wish not to participate please let me know. They will be given an alternate assignment.

AMSC Parent Surveys

ART ANNOUNCEMENT:

Key Items: ITT, Absences and Grades

Afternoon families,  

Hope all is well as we count down the final days before Fall Break! 5 more school days to be exact :)

ITT Meeting reminders, October Scholastic Forms and October Snack Calendars are being sent home today. Also, please check your child's student planner for their Science grade.


Absences:
Please let me know as soon as possible especially when you have a planned absence. Every Friday we test and due to scheduling I do not allow make-up tests. Students absent on Friday do not get a grade for the test. This in the long run effects their grade.


Homework make-up are always due by the Monday after they return and students are expected to continue with the work for that week as well. If absent work is not completed in time, they will not receive a grade.


Homework detention is during recess in the classroom or outside at the tables. Many students are not completing their assignments which can lead to Saturday School. Please check your child's homework and student planner nightly. Report Card grades have been submitted, however, they have plenty of time to increase their percentage before Progress Report 2 and the next Report Card.

ITT MEETING

THIRD GRADE IIT (PARENT MEETINGS) WILL BE HELD:

WHEN: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2018
TIME: 5PM-6PM
LOCATION: 3B


Students and other children are not allowed to attend. They will be escorted to the playground or gym if you have to bring them with you. The meeting will be held as a group while I present general data about the class. Parent will receive individual test results and your child's report card.

Hello there and welcome back!

There are many events to look forward to.
Report Cards grades will be finalized by this Friday, September 28, 2018 and you will receive them the first week of October during parent teacher meetings. More information on the official time and date when I am given that information.

The second week of October, the 8th-12th, AMSC will be CLOSED for Fall Break.

October 3rd, 4th and 5th will be EARLY DISMISSAL. Please plan accordingly.
