okay Scholars this is Miss Morris again coming to you live and direct going to talk about the powers of 10 so when we first start off with * 56 * 156 * 1056 * 56 * 1056 * 10056 * 100056 * 1 million when we start off * 56 time one is always going to be equivalent to that number so one time any other number equals that number 56 * 1 is going to equal 56 56 * 10 is going to be 56 and because there is one zero in the other Factor there will also be one zero in the product 56 * 100 because there are two zeros in the fact there will also be two zeros in the product don't forget your, and I'll write 56 x 1,000 because there are three zeros in the fact there will also be three zeros the product 1 2 3, the rest remaining numbers 56 * 10000 what is our pattern since there are four zeros right here there will also be four zeros in your product 56 * 10000 is going to equal what this is where you can pause it and solve it on your own there will be how many zeros 1 2 3 4 1 2 3, so what does that equal 560000 next there is 5 zeros in your Factor so there will also be five zeros in your product 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 are you guys going to see that one-two-three, one-two-three, what is that number 5600000 we have last but not least 56 x 1 million there are six zeros in this Factor there will also be six zeros in your product 56 that means I need 6 zeros 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 2 3, 1 2 3, what is that number you got to tell me all right so when we're talkin about the powers of 10 each time it is similar to when we're having an exponent so 56 * 1 with then be 56 x 10 to the zero power or the power of 0 + 56 * 10 would be 50 6 x 10 to the 1st power right so if we're talking about exponential terms how would we write that as an exponent so get another board so we can show you exactly how we write that 56 can you say that question 56 * 10 equals 56 x 10 to the 1st all right and then if we have 56 * 100 and we wanted to write it an exponent as an exponent it would be 56 10 to the second power so what would be the next one if it was 56 x 1000 1000 how will we write it in exponential form alright I need you guys to finish all the way down to 56 million and also I want you guys to create me a place value chart I want you to create the best place value chart possible so I want you to have decimals in it as well imma give you a quick example I want your place value chart to attend times as good as mine I want you to go from the decimal point 1 2 3 4 5 places to the right and on the left side of the decimal I want you to go all the way up to 1 billion 1 billion that is billion 1 billion all right make sure your place value chart looks amazing then send me your pics alright alright miss you guys have fun make sure you get these lessons completed
