Ms. Solis 1st Grade

Course Description

Dear Families,
Welcome to First Grade at AMSG, I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher and I know this will be an awesome year. I am Ms. Solis and I have a Bachelors degree in Lliberal Studies and a minor in Spanish from California State Polytechnic University of Pomona. I am from California, and I recently moved to Arizona this year. I have worked in Kindergarten classrooms all the way up to 3rd grade and I continue to learn new approaches and put them into practice.
For you child’s journey to be successful, it is important for us to understand everyone is different and unique. With the support of students and families, we will create a classroom that will recognize and respect individuality. I invite you to play an active role in your child’s education by talking with your child each day about their learning, reading together every night and communicating with me.
Each day your child will bring home is or her homework folder. This folder is the communication link between home and school. It will contain his or her work for the day, notes, and most importantly homework. Homework is a great way to reinforce practice of skills learned at school as well as a method to keep you informed of our lessons. Please return all homework the next day unless noted differently on the paper. Please check your child’s folder daily for important papers, letter, and notes. One side will be labeled Leave At Home and the other will be Bring Back to School. It may take some time to get in routine, but well worth it. Thank you in advance!

P.S If at anytime you have any questions and concerns please let me know, I am happy to talk to you. Please send a note, email, call or even through Dojo, and I will try to respond as soon as possible.
