Welcome students and parents,

My name is Mrs. Avila and I will be your child’s 1^st grade AVA online teacher. I am very excited to be a part of your child’s education. I will nurture existing skills and have fun learning and developing new skills. I cannot wait for the first day of school to meet you all in our online setting! Here is a brief bio about me.

I graduated from the Mary Lou Teachers College at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a major in Special Education and Elementary Education. I am a loving, devoted, and charismatic person. I love spending time with my family and playing games (video games, board games, and sports). I have been teaching for five years. This will be my fourth-year teaching first grade at AMS. I taught first grade at AMS Camelback for three years. As a teacher, I take my role very seriously because our students are our future. As a teacher, I know that I am helping to create tomorrow’s leaders but also helping to create citizens of good character.

Here at AMS we work towards creating successful students and teach them that the sky is the limit. Our student readers will have their reading and writing skills put to the test as we discover our creative genius. In Mrs. Avila’s class our students will master 1^st grade core subjects like English, Math, Science and Social Studies. This will be a fun and exciting year for every student; however, with success there are responsibilities and class expectations that every student is required to follow. This year's online experience will be academically rigorous, but it will be fun, and we will have an amazing year!
