Hello AMS Prince families,
I am pleased to welcome you back to the 2019-20 school year! I would like to extend a special welcome to the new families joining AMS this year and welcome back all of our returning families as well! Our goal at AMS is to work together to provide our students with a rich learning environment.
This school year will be full of exciting and valuable learning opportunities for your child. Teachers and staff members at AMS are committed to supporting each student’s learning experience through quality instruction and guidance that addresses the needs of the whole child. Teachers work to provide students with differentiated support that address each student’s specific needs both academically and socially.
Student success is attributed to the partnership and the relationships we build within our community. It truly does take a village! Education is a joint venture and Team AMS greatly appreciates the support you provide for your children at home and at school to help them meet their learning goals. Administrators and teachers recognize the important contributions parents make toward a child’s success in school. There is no question about it – success at school begins at home. Parents are the single most important variable in a child’s schooling. Parents model both a silent and spoken language in front of their children daily.
One of the most important components of a good school is the partnership between the school and parents who work together for the best interest of the children. The close partnership between home and school is one of exceptional strengths at the Academy of Math and Science.
The Academy of Math and Science has a strong tradition of supportive, hard-working parents. Throughout the year parents develop that partnership in a wide variety of ways. Parents join the Parent Booster Club, volunteer in the classroom, help at school sponsored events, attend School Site PAC meeting, read to their children, and help in many other ways. It is important to your child that you are involved in some way at school. It’s a way to let your child know you think his or her school is important.
We believe that only working together can we ensure the success of our students. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
