Remediation

Many classes at AMS Advanced Virtual Academy work one or more years above grade level. Because of this, new students may need to be enrolled in additional instructional periods after school to catch up and keep up with the work and academic content during their first year at AMS. Remediation is conducted in small groups for those students who need additional instruction in our core math and language arts programs.

The AMS remediation program has 3 tiers:

1. Students are placed in pull-out groups during classes to receive more individualized attention

2. Students participate in remediation during the last school period while other students are in homework help

3. Students attend after-school or Saturday remediation sessions and during pull-outs from specials classes
