Meet Ms. Rodgers
Abigail Rodgers grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia and Pensacola, Florida. She left traditional high school at the age of 15 to pursue her dream of becoming a professional dancer. As a dual-enrolled high school student at Pensacola State College, she earned her A.A. in General Studies at the age of 17. Her endeavors led her to dancing in places like New York, Atlanta, Orlando, and Chicago. Seeking higher education in her field, she attended the University of South Florida and later completed her BA at Grand Canyon University, both on scholarships. During this period, she found that her love for teaching was parallel to her love for the arts. After receiving her BA, she was accepted into a professional dance company, Contemporary West Dance Theatre in Las Vegas, where she fine-tuned her skills for both teaching and dancing. She started at AMSPA August 2020 and is proud to be a part of the Scorpion family.
Ms. Rodgers finds herself gravitating to anything in the artistic realm: dance, music, singing, photography, poetry, drawing, painting, welding, woodwork, and sculpture. She enjoys problem solving and finding solutions in how to utilize art and creativity to fill young minds with curiosity about the world around them. When she is not teaching, Ms. Rodgers finds herself being a life coach for her friends and doing humanitarian work.
Ms. Rodgers prides herself in loving her students unconditionally and empowering young students to create, question, explore, and above all to be kind to themselves and others. She is thrilled to have her own classroom and can’t wait to make an impact on the hearts and minds of little people.
