Meet Ms. Doty

Ms. Doty attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee for her bachelor’s degree in business administration, was a part of the business connections team and majored in marketing.  She earned her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix.  She earned an endorsement in special populations.  Ms. Doty has an Elementary Education teaching certificate and I have taught the past 11 years on and off.  Besides teaching she was in sales for classroom technology including systems and software as territory management of the Midwest and also worked in Mortgage Banking.  She has been a teacher in general and special education 2nd grade up to 8th grade, both inclusion and special subjects only like Math and Science.  She is really looking forward to her new career here at the Academies of Math & Science- Peoria Advanced.
Ms. Doty is a huge Green Bay Packers fan as she grew up in Mukwonago, Wisconsin amongst the 1,000 lakes and feels she had one of the best childhoods being able to ride bikes, go fishing and walk to the beach every day.  She wants to bring that excellent experience to her students as well through technology and science.  Outside of school Ms. Doty spends all of her time with her family and her daughter Zeta Rain.  They enjoy painting with acrylics, making crafts, walking, playing and investigating parks with our dogs.  Ms. Doty has an arts background and always been a part of social committees and yearbook in the past and hope that I can offer any assistance needed here on campus.  Piano is something I have always wanted to learn and feel our students are so lucky to have that as a special here at our AMS Peoria Advanced campus.
Ms. Doty is so excited and looking forward to bringing specialized instructional practices that will lead her students into their best learning experience and safe individualized learning environment.  She will be  focused on working with her talented teacher teams to share best practices and improve learning possibilities, academic growth and success. She is is excited to be a part of such a dynamic and positive thinking advanced campus and act as a model for positive change and leadership to my students.
