Meet Mrs. McKnight

Tami McKnight received her Bachelor's Degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. During her college years, she played tennis and was a cheerleader for the University. This will be Tami's second year at the Academies of Math and Science. In the past, she has had many different experiences in teaching. Mrs. McKnight started as a 5/6 split teacher in Tacoma Washington. After starting a family she became a preschool teacher/owner before moving on to substitute teaching which became long term. She decided to take a Kindergarten position in Kent Washington. Due to a job change with her husband, they decided to move down to Arizona to take on new adventures. She is very excited to be at the Academies of Math and Science.

Tami is married to Brad McKnight and has 3 kids. Lexi is 21 years old and is a strength and conditioning coach at Elite U. Lizzy is 19 and is a diver at GCU, and Drew is a Senior in high school and plays basketball. We also have a puppy named Kobe. Tami has been a competitive cheer and gymnastics coach for 20 years. She loves the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. McKnight is very excited to have students back in her classroom. She believes kindergarten students are eager learners and loves spending time teaching them new things. She hopes things get back to normal soon so all students can find the joys of learning again.
