About Me

About Mary Weinlader

I am originally from the state of Texas, but my family was military we lived many places. I was constantly the new kid in school, and it taught me to be adaptable. This skill is very handy in teaching, and most especially now as we transition to more online learning.

My formal education was at Southern Illinois University in, Carbondale, IL. My degree is in Biological Science. I began my teaching career 15 years ago in Yuma, Az. before moving to the Goodyear area. I have taught several different grade levels of children with varying needs and abilities. This is my 4th year teaching in Goodyear and my first year with Academies of Math and Science.

My daughter, Zoe, is a graduate from ASU and I am very proud of her. I have 2 dogs, Charlie and Molly, but have had several other animals in the past these include turtles, tortoises, birds, rabbits, cats, fish, ferrets and more. As is obvious, I clearly enjoy animals.

In my leisure time I enjoy being with my dogs, watching movies, cooking, biking, hiking, and traveling. When I am able to travel I enjoy going to the beach.

This year will be quite and adventure as we all get use to the virtual classroom. We will all be learning together and there will be plenty of opportunities for parents/learning coaches to contribute to our online platform. I look forward to interacting with all of you soon.
