Meet Mr. Charlie Johnson

Charlie Johnson is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 2008, Charlie earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Jackson State University. Shortly after finishing his bachelor’s program, Charlie would pursue a career as a residential care supervisor to provide care to adolescents with disabilities in a group home setting. Charlie worked as a residential care supervisor 8 years before making his career shift to the classroom. In 2016 Charlie began his career as special education teacher and earned his master’s degree in Special Education shortly after. In 2020, Charlie earned his second master’s degree in Educational Administration. Charlie comes to Academy of Math & Science with five years of teaching experience.
 
Charlie has had the opportunity to work with scholars from grades Kindergarten thru 8th grade.
Charlie and his wife Autumn relocated to the desert state in June 2019. Charlie enjoys coaching, participating in professional sporting events, shopping, spending time with family, and most of all traveling. Charlie has visited 37/50 states.Charlie is huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers and enjoys watching them both televised and in person.
 
Charlie looks forward to establishing a positive rapport with both parents and scholars. he looks forward to year and helping scholars to learn and overcome new challenges. Most of all, Charlie looks forward to helping his scholars to turn “I CAN’T INTO I CAN”.
