Meet Mr. Matthew Cardoza

Mr. Cardoza graduated from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy with an emphasis in Ethics. He spent the following two years dividing time between coaching high school water-polo, substitute teaching, and traveling around the world, before relocating to Arizona and taking the Middle School Social Studies teaching position at the Academy of Math and Science: Peoria Advanced.

Mr. Cardoza enjoys any number of hobbies and activities outside of work! Some of these include watching and playing basketball with his friends, hiking, exploring the outdoors with his girlfriend, and playing the guitar. He especially enjoys eating breakfast burritos and cheesecake.

Mr. Cardoza looks forward to seeing how his students have grown and changed over the long break since March, as well as getting to know his new students.  He is very excited to dive into current movements for social justice in the United States and the 2020 election!
