Greetings:
My name is Mrs. Smith, and I am thrilled to be part of the staff at AMS Desert Sky, teaching 4th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. Having taught on different grade levels in different states, as well as working in the corporate world, has given me a unique perspective on education. Our team is eager to work with students at AMS to help them reach their educational potential.

A reminder about Conferences.....
As a reminder, Grade-level conferences are this week. Ours is on Wednesday, October 9th @ 3:30 PM in the Gym. As a result, school will be dismissed at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (as usual). There will also be no After Care or "Friday Late" on those days.
If you wish to conference one-to-one with me, I will be available on
Wednesday in 1/2 hour blocks from 1 until 3:30; from 4 until 5.
Friday in 1/2 hour blocks from 1 until 3 PM.
Next week - in 1/2 hour blocks after school.

A note about Parent Conferences...
Parents, 2nd-8th Grade Conreferences are coming up. 4th Grade's Conference will be in the gym on Wednesday, October 9th, at 3:30. The entire grade gathers in the gym and receives a presentation on report cards, testing data and what’s coming up next quarter. If you can’t make it, a video will be shared on dojo next week. See you then.

ON the Informational Writing sheet in the HW packet, find the sentence in each paragraph that is unnecessary and underline it. THEN, rewrite each paragraph (without the unnecessary info) on the Manuscript/Cursive writing pages. If only one paragraph fits, that is fine.
