Mr. Avila's ELA and Social Studies

Welcome students and parents,

I'm Mr. Avila, and I will be your 5th grade ELA and Social Studies AVA online teacher. This year will be fun, exciting, full of activities, and critical thinking challenges. I can't wait for the first day of school to meet you all in our online setting! Here is a brief bio about me.

I graduated from the Mary Lou Teachers College at Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Education. With the combined experience of ASU's student teaching program and four years of teaching experience this will be my fifth year teaching. I've taught a variety of grade levels ranging from second grade up to high school. However, out of all the content I've taught, I've enjoyed 5th grade the most! Fifth graders have an amazing creative genius and growth potential, and like seeds in good soil, they will grow and become trees of knowledge. This year's online experience will be academically rigorous, but it will be fun and we will have an amazing year!
