Principal - Ms. Kate Toci

 Kate Toci  

              Kate Toci received her Masters of Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University with a K-12 Reading Specialist Endorsement. Ms. Toci holds her Arizona Elementary Teaching Certificate with a K-12 Structured English Immersion Endorsement. Throughout her years as a classroom teacher, she taught first, third and fifth grade. Ms. Toci was named the 2014-2015 Arizona Charter Association Teacher of the Year for her data driven instruction and technology integrated teaching strategies. She started working with Academy of Math and Science Camelback in 2015 as an Instructional Coach. While working at AMSC, Ms. Toci has built vital relationships with staff, families and students. She has built the English Language Learner program on the campus to ensure the best learning environment for the approximate 30% of students on the campus that qualify for services.  Ms. Toci is currently finishing her Masters of Educational Leadership with Northern Arizona University.

 


Assistant Principal - Mr. Clint Keller

Clint Keller

 

Mr. Clint Keller was born in Kingman, Arizona and lived there most of his life until moving to Phoenix to work for AMS Camelback.  He is married and has two sons, Dana and Kyle.  Mr. Keller's wife, Loni, is also an educator. 

Mr. Keller started his career as an electronic technician and decided that teaching was what he would rather be doing.  So he completed his education and ended up teaching high school science for 7 years in the room he took biology in during high school.  He finished his master’s degree in educational leadership and went into administration at the same high school. After 3 years, he transferred to elementary and was assistant principal for 8 years before returning to the high school.  He finally ended up here as an assistant principal at AMS Camelback.

 

Assistant Principal - Mr. Curtis Walker

Curtis Walker  

Curtis Walker was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduating from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Curtis served in the 2013 cohort for Teach for America. Serving in the same region in which he was from, Curtis saw education inequity from a new lens and began to advocate for all students receiving a high-quality education, regardless of their zip-code. He taught middle school ELA in grades 5, 7, and 8 and served in an instructional coaching role alongside teaching duties.

Curtis moved to Arizona in 2016 with his wife and joined our staff at The Academy of Math and Science as an ELA teacher for grades 6 and 7. He also began an Administrative Leadership master’s degree program with Arizona State University. This is Curtis’ first year as Assistant Principal with AMS Camelback. He is excited to build and foster relationships with educators, students, families, and community members. Outside of work, Curtis is a huge fan of basketball, loves cooking, photography, and traveling.

 

Instructional Coach - Ms. Barbara Asaro

Barbara Asaro  

Ms. Asaro began her career in the criminal justice field prior to pursuing education. She started teaching in 2006 as a second grade teacher and moved on to teach 4th and 5th grade throughout her seven years in the classroom. In 2013, Ms. Asaro left her classroom to pursue her dream of working in school leadership. Her educational background consists of a Master's in Educational Leadership and she is a certified school administrator. She has been an instructional coach since 2013 and truly loves working with teachers and helping them achieve their professionals and classroom goals. Ms. Asaro joins AMS Camelback this year and is looking forward to future opportunities.
