WELCOME BACK

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Welcome to the 2020 – 2021 school year for the Academy of Math & Science – Flower! I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Belisario and I will be your child’s middle school mathematics teacher, 6th or 7th grade, for this school year. This is my third year at AMS Flower and I am excited for the new school year.

My main goal for every student will be to provide him or her with an engaging and comfortable learning environment. I am looking to positively promote to the students the importance of diligence, respect, trust, and a sense of ownership. I also firmly believe when creating the best possible class environment is one when the parents, students, and teachers work together as a team. In addition, I will make it of the utmost importance to always communicate the student expectations, assignments and updates while answering any concerns you may have during the upcoming school year. I truly understand the enormity of my job and I relish the responsibility of providing your child the opportunity of a quality education that they deserve.

Again, I just want to say how much I look forward to working with your child and you this school year. I assure you my best efforts to help your child to grow and realize their own potential in order to succeed. Thank you again for the opportunity to teach your student.

Student Expectations

Students will be held accountable for specific responsibilities they will be performing. These important responsibilities include:

  • Students should always be prepared for class and always on task for every assignment they are given. In order for them to succeed they will need to be completely focused.
  • Students should be positive and never feel discouraged if they are having trouble or struggling with a certain topic. The students are encouraged to ask questions so that we can provide them with the help they need in order to succeed.
  • Students will be held accountable for their own work and should make sure all work shows their best effort. No sharing of work, cheating, or copying will be tolerated.
  • Students will need to have the ability to make the safe decision that does not put themselves or those around them in troublesome situations.
  • Students will be expected to show respect, kindness, and dignity to themselves and others in order to build the type of classroom environment that every person, student and teacher, will feel welcomed and comfortable in.
