Course Description

A strong base of technology skills (technical literacy) is a necessity in the world today. In Technology Class, students will focus on gaining computing skills that build upon each other, week after week, and work to gain confidence. In class,  students will be encouraged to incorporate the 4 C’s of 21st Century Learners – Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Creativity!

The state of Arizona’s Educational Technology standards for students focus on the following six key areas:

  1.  Creativity and Innovation
  2. Communication and Collaboration
  3. Research and Information Literacy
  4. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making
  5. Digital Citizenship
  6. Technology Operations and Concepts

Within these six areas, students will explore applications, programs, and skills to enhance their computing and technology skills. The full standards can be viewed at http://www.azed.gov/standards-practices/k-12standards/standards-educational-technology/.

Technology class is conducted in a laptop lab. All students are to treat the laptops with care and respect to ensure they may be used efficiently all year long.  As a school, students will commit to being respectful stewards of the technology equipment.
