3D Assignments

I am sending a set of documents for your student to use/review during the summer break.  

There are 2 English packet versions attached - part of a zip file. 

These include a variety of work for 3rd grade -  Math, writing, reading and Social Studies  These includes answer keys too for quick checks. 

 

I would suggest if able to print a few pages a week - the first packet v1 has 56 pages. 

v2 has 34 pages - again - with answer keys included to check the student's understanding. 

Even if student can review pages on a phone or ipad, they can write the answers down separately and stay ACTIVE with their learning.

Good morning!
I am concerned at the lack of work as we are heading to the end of Week 4. Please review the weekly work summary and work to get some assignments completed. 

Please take the time to address these issues. Ms. Herren and I are looking forward to seeing your work and it will play a part in your grades this quarter.
IF you are not sure where to start or feel overwhelmed - get through the daily questions and then the work assignment list. Every day you should be working in Google Classroom - and not waiting til the end of the week/weekend to do work. Each day focus on an assignment and feel good for the accomplishment!

Students received back their Math Test 17A.  They are requested to review, make corrections (on separate piece of paper), and have signature of parent on both to turn in Tuesday.  Without signature, it will not be accepted. 

Many of the students NEED to make corrections, to save their grade.  PLEASE take it seriously that they need to complete these corrections.  Please do not erase test answers - but have student write and show work on separate page of paper.

Math Homework - Students worked today on review of division where a zero is one of the numbers in the answer.  For example, 2400 divided by 4 is 600.

Hello!  Students had a busy day today with BOTH Math and Science. 

Math - students have one page practice of fact families using multiplication and division. 

Science - Students are working on "living things vs. non-living things" and determining what is/is not.  They have a one page practice to determine what is living vs. non-living.  

Also, they were given the science work they did not turn in previously for a grade. 

Grades are due Friday, so it is important to get caught up.

Students today worked on understanding and identifying triangles and classifications of triangles.  Students have a 2 sided page on triangles for homework tonight.

Hello - Class today was GREAT!  WE had NO washers turned in for either class, and two people earned their BEE status in 3C!  WOW!  We were focused, on task and working hard in our Study Island computer work and we had great success with meeting some goals!

Homework - Students have a one page practice  - all about how to convert percentages, decimals, and fractions!

Hello!  Students worked today on recognizing key terms in word problems to determine type of problem, function.  Students had fun in class with assignments.  Homework tonight is two pages DS of word problems (Colorful Backpacks) , and fractions (Parts of a Group).

Friday we are doing a test prep - as the class will have a test on Monday.

ps - we are checking homework being turned in.  Thursday HW - 3C had a 77%  success rate.  3D had a 46% success rate.  I have challenged both classes to reach 80% or better by February! 

Students worked in class to practice division with a zero ending problems.  Additionally, students were given the opportunity to get on Study Island.  

Homework today was two pages; both related to fractions.  Students should start with the one that is numbered 1 or 2.  The second page is a fun springtime fraction practice, with good resource notes on the back.

Math - we discussed and worked with congruent and similar shapes - what is the difference.  Students had time to work on homework in class - problems: 12, 16-21, 23,24, 25, 28-30.  They do not need the book - just the homework packet.

Today in MATH we talked about measurements - centimeters and millimeters - and how to convert between the two metric measures. 

The work in class was the Lesson Practice problems.  Homework is the Written Practice - numbers 11-30.  Students should need a ruler or a book to answer these questions.

Math - students did an in-class assignment regarding shapes.  They can use that to finish the Math homework today on Quadrilateral shapes and angles. 

Science - students have a science reading assignment, with questions to finish.  The class read the article on Sharks in class as a group.

Students worked today in groups!  This was a big transition and they did well! 

Topic today was "Division with two-digit answers".  Basically understanding how to recognize the parts of a division problem, and how to do the math.  They have the resource sheet, with homework problems on the back.  (Dividing 96 by 4 = 24.  4 groups of 24 = 96 total).  

Great opportunity to work as a group, problem solving and thinking thru the method of division and how it relates to multiplication.

Math - Students reviewed Geometric Shapes, and qualifying terms for each - triangle, rectangle, square;  also reviewed angles.

Homework is two printed pages labeled 23 and 81 - related to angles, lines, segments. 

The added page on capacity we will discuss in class tomorrow. 

Students are taking the English Writing part of the Benchmark tomorrow morning.  Please make sure students are on time, rested and ready.

SCIENCE - students received their tests back.  Tests cannot be corrected.  Students are working in class to finish packet work with Body systems - these will be last grades entered in grade book for Science.

Students will be allowed in class Monday to make corrections to MATH test for 1/2 point-back, but there are no corrections allowed for the Science Test - as it was open book and open note.

My homeroom (3C) worked on their Math, practicing division and relationship to multiplication.  Students also finalized homework from Lesson 46.   They also had the chance to get on Study Island and work on specific math applications! 

My 3D class was able to get to the Science lesson from Thursday, reviewing and discuss the digestive tract today - What happens to the food we eat?  Fun discussions and practice identifying parts and the role in digestive system.  

One page division review for take home.

What a FUN day!  Students learned all about division today - how multiplication and division use the same fact families, and how to use the multiplication chart to  find division answers!  Homework is a printed two pages, they did the first two pages in CLASS, and then the written problems 1-20 are homework tonight.  Any problem with a clock, use one at home, and if you do not have a ruler - no worries.

Math - We wrapped up our week with review of multiplication and some science!
Please quiz your children on the multiplication tables - students should be confident and knowledgeable of numbers 1-12. If they can practice 30 minutes every day, this will be a quick process!
Science - we worked on the skeletal system identifications and watched a video about "What would happen if we did not have a skull?" Had the kids thinking thru different reasons why a good bone structure is so important!
