Description
 

In this course, students will have four units of science: scientific method, ecology, geology, and solar systems. Students will learn through different activities such as the reading the textbook, note-taking on presentations, investigations, and other techniques to ensure the students have an in-depth understanding of each topic. The students will be learning from Life Science, a textbook presented by CPO Science, as well as Inside Earth, presented by Science Explorer.

Rock Collection due 3/26:

Collect 12 different rocks

Identify the rock you’ve found as igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic rock to help you identify the rock samples www.geology.com can help)

Once you are certain you know the name of the rock, write a notecard sized fact card about the rock. The flashcard should include the answer to some of the questions below, filling up the WHOLE notecard:

Whether it is igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic

The mineral composition of the rock

The texture of the rock (smooth, medium, or coarse)

How the rock might be used around the world

Common places the rock is found

Any other interesting facts!
