Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Welcome to what promises to be another incredible school year at The Academy of Math and Science! We are so excited about our fourth year here in Phoenix; it will be one filled with new and exciting changes as we strive to find ways to continually improve. As we begin this new year, we pledge to you, our students, parents, and community, that this will be a wonderful year of engaging, meaningful, and rigorous work in our classrooms, along with some fun and special times through a plethora of extracurricular clubs and activities, performing arts groups, and athletic teams and events we encourage our young Turtles to be involved in here at AMS!

During this 2016—2017 school year, we will continue to build upon and refine our foundation of good work and many worthwhile traditions, none being more important than continuing to build upon our tradition of excellence in education.  Our vision?  Simply put: habits of mind, character building, and 21st century skills!

Our staff of highly qualified professional educators and support personnel is committed to providing our students many opportunities, both inside and outside of the classroom.  We pledge that this will be our focus daily, and we invite and encourage you to work in partnership with us to seize these opportunities in as many areas as possible.

We look forward to a very positive and productive year together, and we extend a special, yearlong invitation to our parents to join us at school activities and events whenever possible.  We want, need, and value your involvement and support in your child’s education!

Please also know that we highly value communication here at AMS. It is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success. Please do not hesitate to contact us if/when the need arises, and we will do likewise. We encourage our parents to stay in the know about their child’s studies, assignments, assessments, and school activities, as well as other events and happenings.

Again, we welcome you to AMS and to our wonderful professional learning community, a place abounding with opportunities and the expectation of high academic achievement! Let’s work together to make this the best year yet!

All the best,

Brynn Embley
